Every picture below is the same nine entries from the sample timeline. You type an entry once; each view reads it in its own way.

Every dated entry as a card on a track, with eras shaded behind them. Drag along it, zoom in and out, or type a year to go there.

The same entries as a slide show with a time bar below, showing each entry's first picture or video.

Numbers over the years drawn as lines, with your entries marked on them. Type or paste the data, or import it from a CSV file.

What history is really like

Dates you do not know

An entry with no known date still has a place. Say what came before or after it, and YearWise shows the years it could sit in and draws linked entries as a flowchart.

Rich entries

A formatted description with links, pictures with a caption and credit, places, people and sources. With Pro also video, sound clips, PDF files, before and after pictures and 360° pictures.

Your files, offline

Each timeline is a folder with a plain file and its pictures. Back it up by copying the folder. YearWise sends nothing to us.

What YearWise needs

About 165 MB. The installer is for one user and asks for no administrator rights.
WEBVIEW2
Part of Windows 11 and nearly always present on Windows 10. If it is missing, YearWise offers to download it from Microsoft.
PORTABLE
A zip that runs from a USB stick or any folder Windows lets programs write to.
